Biography:

My current research program is focused on three major themes: (I) investigation of mechanisms by which dysregulation of translational control contributes to the development of chronic pain, (II) studying the role of extracellular matrix (ECM) and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in the regulation of spinal cord plasticity and the development of chronic pain, and (III) examining the mechanisms by which dysregulation of integrated stress response (ISR) pathway contributes to the pathophysiology of Fragile X syndrome

Areas of expertise:
  • Dysregulation of translational control and the development of chronic pain
  • Extracellular matrix (ECM) and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in the regulation of spinal cord plasticity
  • Dysregulation of integrated stress response (ISR) pathway and pathophysiology of Fragile X syndrome
